Yorktown Day, October 19
Ceremonies, a parade, fifes and drums performances, and special programs commemorate the 236th anniversary of America’s momentous Revolutionary War victory at Yorktown.
Family Frights at Jamestown Settlement, October 20-21
A Halloween-theme museum night for elementary-school-age children and families returns October 20-21 to Jamestown Settlement with trick-or-treating, ghostly tales, haunted houses and ships, and grisly games.
Night of the Living Museum, October 20-21
This family Halloween celebration at the Virginia Living Museum returns for the 18th year. This is a not-too-spooky event for families with children ages 12 and under.
Boo Bash at the Beach, October 21
Enjoy a “day at the beach” with a Halloween twist! Costumes welcome. Enjoy hands-on activities, pumpkin carving and decorating ($), first-come, first-served while supplies last. Event also features music, games, food for purchase and much more!
Haunting on DOG Street, October 15-31
Join us from October 15 through October 31 as we celebrate the Halloween season with new evening programs, ghost tours, spooky carriage rides, museum talks, and special events.
Howl-O-Scream at Busch Gardens, Weekends from September 22 – October 29
Fill fall nights with fright at Busch Gardens® Howl-O-Scream®. At the stroke of 6 p.m. the park becomes home to a host of creepy creatures that lie in wait for unsuspecting victims. Fear abounds in the Virginia theme park’s collection of elaborate haunted houses, immersive themed Terror-tories™ and darkly entertaining live shows.
Red Wolf Awareness Week, October 15 – 21,
Special Wolf Enrichment daily, 1 p.m. Come howl with the Virginia Living Museum’s red wolves during National Wolf Awareness Week. The week is designed to dispel misconceptions about wolves and to teach about the important role these predators play in maintaining healthy ecosystems.

Right Hand Man? George Washington & Alexander Hamilton, October 18
Historian, Peter Henriques will speak on the relationship between Alexander Hamilton and George Washington, and how Hamilton became an indispensable right hand man to both General and President Washington.

Trivia Night at Alewerks, Wednesdays
Wednesday night means the Taproom is the place to be for this battle of the brains. Bring your friends (or your enemies) and prove just how smart you really are. Dramatic Programs at the Nelson House, October 14-21
National Park Services is hosting two dramatic performances with questions and answer afterwards at the Nelson House. Seating is limited.
Mosaic Classes at On the Hill Gallery, October 19
We will be offering three new mosaic art classes, pick one or pick all three! Participants will learn the proper techniques to break, glue and grout their masterpiece. Cost includes supplies.
Yorktown Market Days, Saturdays through October
Featuring over 35 local farmers, producers, vendors, and artists throughout the season, including a variety of homegrown favorites and local art. Delicious food, exciting entertainment, beautiful and inspiring artwork, and a view beyond compare. Weekly live music entertainment. Shoppers can enjoy the added bonus of watching local chefs demonstrate the preparation of various dishes on select Saturdays.
Williamsburg Farmers Market, October 21
Over 40 vendors will bring meats, produce, mushrooms, flowers, pumpkins, fresh apples, artisan chocolate, cheese, honey, baked goods, peanuts and handmade soaps to the Williamsburg Farmers Market.
Spanish Wine and Tapas Tasting, Saturdays
Drop by this Saturday, from 1-4 PM, as we offer a free tasting of Spanish wines paired with authentic Spanish bites! Join us on a tour of Spain’s wine regions and grapes and discover a new favorite from La Rioja, Ribeiro del Duero or a Cava or Sherry.
