Colonial Williamsburg Grand Illumination, December 3
Join Colonial Williamsburg for this special day by strolling the Revolutionary City and viewing all the unique decorations. Enjoy musical performances from multiple stages and delight in the fireworks displays from the Capitol, Magazine and the Governor’s Palace.

Yorktown Lighted Boat Parade, December 2
Festively decorated sail and power boats compete for “Best in Show.” The Yorktown waterfront is bedazzled with holiday sights and sounds, including a spectacular floating parade of lights, caroling around a roaring beach bonfire, musical performances and complimentary hot cider. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens, November 24 – January 1
Christmas shines brightest at Busch Gardens® Christmas Town™. The World’s Most Beautiful Theme Park is aglow with more than eight million lights, the largest light displays in North America. Festive food and drink, special dining experiences, holiday shopping and heart-warming shows make the season come alive at Busch Gardens.

Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops Concert, December 2 & 3
The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Holiday Pops Concert during Grand Illumination. Music Director Janna Hymes will conduct this festive program of holiday favorites and Soprano Sarah Kate Walston will be the featured guest artist.

Dean Shostak’s Crystal Carols Concert, December 2
Dean Shostak performs his popular holiday show at the Williamsburg Library Theatre this year. He is also bringing back the glass violin. In this family friendly concert you also hear crystal hand bells and Benjamin Franklin’s invention, the glass armonica.

Palace Concert, Saturdays through December 30
The regal Palace Ballroom comes to life by candlelight as Colonial Williamsburg’s early music ensemble, Governor’s Musick, offers an elegant evening of chamber music.

Christmas Town Dash 8K and Fun Run, December 3
Enjoy the sights, smells, and sounds of Christmas as you wind your way through the world’s most beautiful theme park in this exciting 8K run through the wonderfully decorated Christmas Town at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA.

Furniture Facelift Class at On the Hill Gallery, December 3

Fall Lecture Series: History Below the Waves (Mariners’ Museum), November 30
Presented by Jeff Gray, Superintendent of NOAA’s Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary FREE for Members; $5 for guests Preserved by the cold freshwater on which they once served, more than 200 shipwrecks are believed to rest in Lake Huron’s Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary.

A Colonial Christmas at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, December
At American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, hear accounts of Christmas and winter in Revolutionary War encampment and glimpse holiday preparations on a Revolution-era farm. Holiday programs complement 17th-century holiday traditions at Jamestown Settlement.

A Colonial Christmas at Jamestown Settlement, December
Experience centuries-old holiday traditions and, December 23-31, festivities featuring period musical entertainment and appearances at Jamestown Settlement by the Lord of Misrule. A Jamestown Settlement holiday film and interpretive programs compare and contrast English Christmas customs of the period with how the season may have been observed in the difficult early years of the Jamestown colony.

“Wild at Art” Show, December 1 & 2
Virginia artists Jim Wilson and David Turner, passionate advocates for Virginia wildlife, host a 2-day show featuring artwork to enrich and inspire appreciation of nature. A portion of sales will support wildlife conservation at the VLM. Cost: Free admission to the Changing Exhibits Gallery.

Mead Up – Grand Illumination Weekend, December 1 – 3
Our final Mead Up event for 2017 is taking place December 1-3 which coincides with Williamsburg’s Grand Illumination. Enjoy the largest selection of Silver Hand Meads that we’ve ever had available.

The Hurrah Players, Virginia’s Leading Family Theatre Company, presents Hurrah for the Holidays! Hurrah for the Holidays is a spirited musical revue featuring holiday favorites from yesterday and today, precision kick line dancers, and a few seasonal surprises!

Yorktown Christmas Tree Lighting, December 1
A tradition that began in 1945 continues with the Yorktown Tree Lighting. Evening highlights include a 7 pm performance by the Fifes and Drums of York Town at the Victory Monument, festive music at Riverwalk Landing, the procession of lights through the historic village, and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

A Community-Wide Service of Lessons & Carols, December 1
Williamsburg Presbyterian Church welcomes all to its annual Community-Wide Service of Lessons & Carols on Friday, December 1st, at 7:00 PM. The service follows a traditional format, first presented in England in 1880.

Williamsburg Christmas Parade, December 2
Join us as we usher in Christmas in Williamsburg with our annual parade at 8 am. See floats, marching bands, civic and business organizations, animal groups and more all decked out supporting our theme “Winter Wonderland” as we welcome our special guests, Santa & Mrs. Claus!

58th Annual Christmas Homes Tour by the Green Spring Garden Club, Inc., December 2
This year’s Homes Tour will feature six homes, which will be beautifully decorated with seasonal floral arrangements. Three homes will be located in the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation’s Historic Area.

Watermen Museum presents Story Tellers, November 27
Story tellers come together at the Yorktown Story Slam every fourth Monday of the month to share their true personal tales about a monthly theme.

Holiday Magic Planetarium Show, November 22 – December 31
Holiday Magic is a delightful celebration of the holiday season that the whole family will enjoy! Featuring timeless classics and songs from the holiday specials we loved as kids, as well as modern holiday music, this show has something for everyone. At the Virginia Living Museum.

Star of Wonder: Mystery of the Christmas Star, November 22 – December 31
The show was completely revised in 2008 to offer a truly immersive look at the journey of the Magi while examining the latest clues and seeking once more to understand the appearance of the Star of Bethlehem. At the Virginia Living Museum.

Vinyl Night at Alewerks, Tuesdays
Join us each and every Tuesday night for Vinyl Night in the Taproom. Bring your own records, or listen to ours, either way it’s sweet vinyl spinning on the turntable. FoodaTude..Food with Attitude will be here too! Retro tunes, good food, and craft beer.

Trivia Night at Alewerks, Wednesdays
Wednesday night means the Taproom is the place to be for this battle of the brains. Bring your friends (or your enemies) and prove just how smart you really are. Talk of the Town: Christmastide, November 24 – December 8
With an 18th century resident as your guide, walk about the city and experience the spirit of the Christmastide season as they share reflections on the holiday season, the news of the day, and perhaps even a little juicy gossip!

A Raleigh Christmas Party, Fridays through December 22

Midwinter Stories, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Sundays through December 10
Among many Native communities in the Eastern Woodlands, storytelling takes place in the fall and winter, when domestic activities are mostly indoors and men are out hunting. Come hear the stories and traditions of tribes that frequented Williamsburg in the 18th century.

Senior Center Exhibit at the Gallery at York Hall, November 18 – December 9
Gallery at York Hall is excited about displaying a variety of art created by the Senior Center artists. While shopping for the holidays or for any occasion, be sure to stop by and admire the Senior Center Exhibit.

Spanish Wine and Tapas Tasting, Saturdays
Drop by this Saturday, from 1-4 PM, as we offer a free tasting of Spanish wines paired with authentic Spanish bites! Join us on a tour of Spain’s wine regions and grapes and discover a new favorite from La Rioja, Ribeiro del Duero or a Cava or Sherry.

The Comedy Club of Williamsburg, Saturdays through February 24
The Comedy Club of Williamsburg invites you to join us for a wonderful evening of fun and laughter. This is your chance to see nationally touring comedians many of whom who have appeared on shows such as Comedy Central, Last Comic Standing, and HBO, David Letterman and Jimmy Fallon! Many of our comedians are Headliners on major stages in New York City, Las Vegas, and on the Cruise Lines! At the DoubleTree Hotel.
