Williamsburg Taste Festival, April 19 – 22
The Williamsburg Taste Festival, formerly the Williamsburg Harvest Celebration, is a celebration of fresh, local food and craft beverages. Combine original culinary authenticity with Southern hospitality and you have the ingredients for an amazing series of events. Opera in Williamsburg Presents Carmen, April 20, 22 & 24
Carmen is an opera in four acts by French composer Georges Bizet. It is set in southern Spain and tells the story of the downfall of Don José, a naïve soldier who is seduced by the wiles of the fiery gypsy Carmen. Presented in full with chamber orchestra accompaniment.

Yorktown’s “Sister Cities French Market,” April 21
Experience many things French with your favorite products for the seventh annual Yorktown Sister Cities French Market. Celebrate the spirit of the Saturday market in Port-Vendres France, Yorktown’s sister city since 1990. Traditional market products such as fresh-baked bread, pastries, chocolates, macaroons and crepes, wine, along with French music and fresh food items for purchase.

RavenCon 2018, April 20 – 22
The Con of Opportunity returns to Williamsburg, Virginia with over 300 hours of programming in one action-packed weekend! Gaming, panels, signings, kids’ programming, workshops, readings, vendors, authors, artists, tournaments, costuming, anime, movies, concerts, books, books, and more books! At the DoubleTree Hotel.

The Originals at Billsburg Brewery, April 21
As an extended event for the Williamsburg Taste Festival (WTF), Billsburg Brewery is happy to host this event that show cases original music from local artists. Colonial National Historical Park National Junior Ranger Day Youth Yorktown Battlefield Walk, April 21 – 22
Come join us for National Junior Ranger Day, an annual recognition of America’s future. Children 14 and under, accompanied by an adult, can participate in a ranger-led walk of the battlefield, Saturday, April 21st, 2017. The walk will begin and end at the Yorktown Battlefield visitor center.

Earth Day Celebration, April 21

Opening Reception for Alison Stinley’s Gilded Splinters Exhibit, April 21
In “Gilded Splinters,” Old Dominon University’s Alison Stinely utilizes various types of sculpting in collaboration with oil painting in order to create impactful pieces that are independent of a traditional frame. Stinely’s work exudes a breath of life that it is everlasting, fantastical, and honest.

Magnificent Melodies, April 22
Join us for “Magnificent Melodies,” a concert to benefit the Williamsburg Early Childhood Music School and their outreach program, “Elliot’s Song,” which provides music education to under-served children in the area.  It will feature teachers, student alumni, friends, and parents of the school performing music of Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Tarrega, Poulenc, Mechem, and more!

Lecture: Hampton Sides’ “In the Kingdom of Ice,” April 19
In the late nineteenth century, people were obsessed by one of the last unmapped areas of the globe: the North Pole. On July 8, 1879, the USS Jeannette set sail from San Francisco to cheering crowds in the grip of “Arctic Fever.” It hoped to reach the North Pole, and carried with it the hopes of the young United States. At the Mariners’ Museum.

First 2018 members Co-op Show, Through April 27
Featuring artists with larger bodies of work, the Members Co-op Show offers a wide variety of 2D and 3D mediums and styles in the main and middle galleries. At the Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center.

Inside James Fort: Built of “Pales, Posts, and Railes,” Saturdays through May 19
Building a fort proved to be a necessity for the colonists within a month of their arrival in 1607. In 1994 Jamestown Rediscovery archaeologists found evidence of the trenches and post molds from the original palisade lines. Carpenter Paul Zelesnikar will demonstrate the tools and methods used by the first colonists to build everything from the fort walls to stools and chests. Stop by to learn more about this important trade!

Quilt Exhibit at the Gallery at York Hall, Through May 31
It’s the longest standing exhibit at the Gallery and you don’t want to miss the new additions for spring. Visit the Gallery to admire these beautiful handcrafted quilts. You’ll also find a collection of new art, jewelry, pottery, and much more for sale.

Bingo Night at the Satellite Taproom, Thursdays
Take a trip to the Premium Outlets for Bingo and Beer at the Alewerks Satellite location Thursday night! Bingo will be from 6pm til 7:30 and is free to play for all ages! Prizes, friends, and of course beer!

Yorktown Market Days, Saturdays
Our waterfront farmers market is one of the most unique in Hampton Roads-offering spectacular views of the York River, live music, food trucks, chef cooking demonstrations, and a variety of vendors! This year, the season starts mid-April, and you can enjoy weekly markets through the end of October.

Local Live Music at Billsburg Brewery, Thursdays Through May

Women with Vision: Masterworks from the Permanent Collection, Through May 13
The Muscarelle Museum of Art is proud to present Women With Vision: Masterworks from the Permanent Collection in conjunction with William & Mary’s 100 Years of Women celebration. This exhibition features over thirty works by prominent women artists from the permanent collection and is comprised of a variety of media styles and time periods expressing their vision.

Guerilla Girls: Conscience of the Art World, Through May 13
The Muscarelle Museum of Art is proud to present Guerrilla Girls: Conscience of the Art World in the Herman Graphic Arts Room as part of the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of coeducation at William & Mary and in Virginia. Since 1985 and even more stridently today, the Guerrilla Girls have been concerned with broader discrimination; particularly social oppression related to race, class, and gender.

Friday Brewmaster’s Pin, Fridays
Every Friday at 4 pm at The Virginia Beer Company, we tap a small but potent Brewmaster’s Pin. Centrally located on the bar top in our taproom, these weekly cask concoctions give our brewing team the chance to add a personal touch to our draft offerings.

Vinyl Night at Alewerks, Tuesdays
Join us each and every Tuesday night for Vinyl Night in the Taproom. Bring your own records, or listen to ours, either way it’s sweet vinyl spinning on the turntable. FoodaTude..Food with Attitude will be here too! Retro tunes, good food, and craft beer.

Trivia Night at Alewerks, Wednesdays
Wednesday night means the Taproom is the place to be for this battle of the brains. Bring your friends (or your enemies) and prove just how smart you really are. It’s an entertaining evening with great craft beer, and a thoroughly irreverent take on trivia. We’ll have food trucks here too with an ever-changing menu of delicious options.
