Busch Gardens Summer Nights, Through August 12
In July and August, there are more reasons than ever to make Busch Gardens® Williamsburg the place for summer fun. Lasers, pyrotechnics, a popular neon dance troupe, cool zones, fireworks, super shakes and tie-dyed crepes, plus more exciting offerings will make it a summer to remember.

Jamestown Jams – Harley Boone, July 27
Come and enjoy free live music at the Jamestown Jams concert on Friday, July 27. The concert theme is Country Night featuring Harley Boone. At Jamestown Beach Event Park.

Summer Breeze Concert Series “Unleashed,” Wednesdays through September 19
The Summer Breeze Concert Series is returning this year – bigger and better than ever! Merchants Square partnered with the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg and CultureFix VA to extend the schedule to 16 weeks with an exciting concert every Wednesday from 6-9pm.

Sounds of Summer Concert Series, Thursdays through August 2
Join us on Thursdays this summer at Riverwalk Landing for free outdoor concerts by the river! Bring your lawn chairs and coolers; and stay until the sun sets! You’ll get to enjoy some of the area’s top acts playing beach favorites, Motown, disco, funk, R&B, Pop & More. Make sure you wear comfy shoes for dancing.

First Assembly Commemoration, July 28
This interactive program will take place a short distance from the Memorial Church, which was constructed in the early 20th century to protect and memorialize the location of the original church where the first Assembly was convened 398 years ago. At Historic Jamestowne.

VBC’s 2nd Annual Crab Pickin’ in the Beer Garden, July 28
Join us on Saturday, July 28th from 12-6 pm for a good old fashioned summertime crab pickin’ at The Virginia Beer Company! Chef Viola and the VA Blue Crab Co. crew will be steaming Virginia Blues and serving up some seasonal seafood favorites. Seating will be available at the picnic tables in the beer garden on a first come, first served basis beginning at Noon.

SpeedQuizzing Trivia League at the Virginia Beer Company, Thursdays through September 27
CALLING ALL TRIVIA BUFFS! Starting July 12th, there will be a 12 Week SpeedQuizzing VA Trivia League! Come out to The Virginia Beer Company to compete to become TRIVIA CHAMPION every Thursday at 6:30 pm.

Inside James Fort: The Powhatan Indians, July 27
The archaeology from inside the fort site offers evidence that local Native tribes were frequent visitors during the earliest years of the settlement. Join Daniel Firehawk Abbott of the Nanticoke people from Maryland’s Eastern Shore to learn about the material culture and lifeways of the Tidewater Algonquians as well as their interactions with the settlers of Jamestown.

Captain Brewster’s Kids, Fridays through August 24
Join in the ranks with Captain Brewster and train to defend Jamestown! As a new recruit, learn the manual of arms for the halberd-“a most ancient and honorable pole arm”-and then march in the “Grand Parade” inside James Fort!

Campfire Social, July 28
Come celebrate summer with a good old fashioned campfire gathering at Chickahominy Riverfront Park! Enjoy s’mores, activities, storytelling and more around the campfire overlooking beautiful Gordon Creek.

Celebrate Yorktown Committee Summer Concert Series, Sundays through August 26
Well-known local musicians and bands perform each Sunday including contemporary and country music, bluegrass, classic rock, modern hits, jazz quartet, Celtic music, traditional barbershop melodies and more. Bring a blanket or lawn chair and pack a picnic supper.

Brewed Awakening! Sundays Brunch & Music at Billsburg Brewery, Sundays through September 2
Join us every Sunday this summer for Brewed Awakening, a brunch and live music experience featuring special Billsburg Brewery beers, live local music from the Iota Creative Collective local artists, local food trucks serving a brunch menu from 11AM to 3pm, and fresh locally roasted coffee from Mandela Coffee.

Hands on the Past!, Through September 3
The Ed Shed is an interactive space where kids and families can share in the moment of discovery and examine real artifacts found at the site. At Historic Jamestowne.

Drinking History Talk: Ginger Beer in the Americas, July 28
One of the first fermented beverages brewed in the Americas was ginger beer, which got its start in the Caribbean in the late 1400s and quickly spread throughout the colonies. The beverage can trace its roots back to Sir Thomas Harriott, a scientist and mathematician, who sailed with Sir Walter Raleigh’s Roanoke expedition in 1585. At Mariner’s Museum.

USS Monitor Center Gallery Tours with John Quarstein, Tuesdays and Fridays through August 10
Renowned historian, John Quarstein, will give a tour of the USS Monitor Center, home to the Civil War ironclad’s iconic gun turret. Learn the incredible story of the USS Monitor‘s creation, battle, sinking and recovery from Mr. Quarstein, the Director Emeritus of the USS Monitor Center. At the Mariners’ Museum.

Civil War Roundtable, Fridays through August 10
Visit the Museum on Friday afternoons to enjoy lunch in the Mariners’ Park Café and stimulating Civil War discussion with renowned historian, John Quarstein. On select Fridays throughout the summer, John will lead the conversation as we dive deep on a theme in Civil War history.

Photography Workshop, Part 3, July 28
The Mariners’ Museum and Park is a wonderful place to explore and a fantastic place to take pictures. Brock Switzer, the Museum’s Photographer and Digital Imaging Specialist, will lead a three-part photography workshop series that will develop your photography skills as you explore the Museum.

Blacksmithing Demonstration at Historic Jamestowne, July 26
Blacksmithing was one of the earliest trades to be practiced at Jamestown. Join Blacksmith Steve Mankowski for demonstrations and a discussion of the types of work that went on at the site of the original James Fort Forge.

Free Fishing days in Virginia, June 1 – 3
June 1-3, 2018 have been designated as Free Fishing Days in Virginia. No fishing license of any kind will be required for rod and reel fishing in freshwater or saltwater, on these days. Plan some time to go fishing and boating; take the family fishing and boating or learn to fish and boat!

Treasures of the Museums Photo Negative Collection at the Mariners’ Museum, June 2
Presented by Jay Moore, Librarian and Archivist at the Museum FREE with Museum admission. In 2015, archivist, Jay Moore, and retired Curator of Photography, Tom Moore, secured funding for a three-year project to catalog several “hidden collections” of photo negatives in the Museum’s cold storage vault.

Come and enjoy free live music for the first Jamestown Jams concert on Friday, May 25. The concert theme is Motown Night featuring Groove Motive. Entrance will open for each Jamestown Jams concert at 5:30 p.m. Concerts will take place on a grassy field within Jamestown Beach Event Park.

Mead up – Memorial Day Weekend, May 25 – 27
If you’ve been to the meadery before you may already know that due to Virginia ABC law we are typically unable to sell mead by the glass. The exception is that a few times a year we are able to obtain a special permit which allows us to serve to you by the glass. We call these special weekends: MEAD UP.For our first MEAD UP of 2018 we are excited to be releasing a brand new limited edition mead made entirely from Virginia ingredients. On Friday, join us for Raspberry Passion Mead Release Day.

Memorial Day Ceremony at Grace Church, May 28
The ceremony will start in the Church with a few prayers and remarks, playing of “Taps”, then proceed to replace the US Flags on each of the 89 known veterans buried in the cemetery of the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Philippine Insurrection, World Wars 1 & 2, Korea, Cold War, and Vietnam with “Honors.”

Colonial Williamsburg Grand Illumination, December 3
Join Colonial Williamsburg for this special day by strolling the Revolutionary City and viewing all the unique decorations. Enjoy musical performances from multiple stages and delight in the fireworks displays from the Capitol, Magazine and the Governor’s Palace.

Yorktown Lighted Boat Parade, December 2
Festively decorated sail and power boats compete for “Best in Show.” The Yorktown waterfront is bedazzled with holiday sights and sounds, including a spectacular floating parade of lights, caroling around a roaring beach bonfire, musical performances and complimentary hot cider. Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops Concert, December 2 & 3
The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Holiday Pops Concert during Grand Illumination. Music Director Janna Hymes will conduct this festive program of holiday favorites and Soprano Sarah Kate Walston will be the featured guest artist.

Dean Shostak’s Crystal Carols Concert, December 2
Dean Shostak performs his popular holiday show at the Williamsburg Library Theatre this year. He is also bringing back the glass violin. In this family friendly concert you also hear crystal hand bells and Benjamin Franklin’s invention, the glass armonica.

Palace Concert, Saturdays through December 30

A Colonial Christmas at Jamestown Settlement, December
Experience centuries-old holiday traditions and, December 23-31, festivities featuring period musical entertainment and appearances at Jamestown Settlement by the Lord of Misrule. A Jamestown Settlement holiday film and interpretive programs compare and contrast English Christmas customs of the period with how the season may have been observed in the difficult early years of the Jamestown colony.

“Wild at Art” Show, December 1 & 2
Virginia artists Jim Wilson and David Turner, passionate advocates for Virginia wildlife, host a 2-day show featuring artwork to enrich and inspire appreciation of nature. A portion of sales will support wildlife conservation at the VLM. Cost: Free admission to the Changing Exhibits Gallery.

Mead Up – Grand Illumination Weekend, December 1 – 3

A tradition that began in 1945 continues with the Yorktown Tree Lighting. Evening highlights include a 7 pm performance by the Fifes and Drums of York Town at the Victory Monument, festive music at Riverwalk Landing, the procession of lights through the historic village, and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

A Community-Wide Service of Lessons & Carols, December 1
Williamsburg Presbyterian Church welcomes all to its annual Community-Wide Service of Lessons & Carols on Friday, December 1st, at 7:00 PM. The service follows a traditional format, first presented in England in 1880.
