Colonial Williamsburg Grand Illumination, December 3
Join Colonial Williamsburg for this special day by strolling the Revolutionary City and viewing all the unique decorations. Enjoy musical performances from multiple stages and delight in the fireworks displays from the Capitol, Magazine and the Governor’s Palace.

Yorktown Lighted Boat Parade, December 2
Festively decorated sail and power boats compete for “Best in Show.” The Yorktown waterfront is bedazzled with holiday sights and sounds, including a spectacular floating parade of lights, caroling around a roaring beach bonfire, musical performances and complimentary hot cider. Christmas Town at Busch Gardens, November 24 – January 1
Christmas shines brightest at Busch Gardens® Christmas Town™. The World’s Most Beautiful Theme Park is aglow with more than eight million lights, the largest light displays in North America. Festive food and drink, special dining experiences, holiday shopping and heart-warming shows make the season come alive at Busch Gardens.

Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra Holiday Pops Concert, December 2 & 3
The Williamsburg Symphony Orchestra presents its annual Holiday Pops Concert during Grand Illumination. Music Director Janna Hymes will conduct this festive program of holiday favorites and Soprano Sarah Kate Walston will be the featured guest artist.

Dean Shostak’s Crystal Carols Concert, December 2
Dean Shostak performs his popular holiday show at the Williamsburg Library Theatre this year. He is also bringing back the glass violin. In this family friendly concert you also hear crystal hand bells and Benjamin Franklin’s invention, the glass armonica.

Palace Concert, Saturdays through December 30
The regal Palace Ballroom comes to life by candlelight as Colonial Williamsburg’s early music ensemble, Governor’s Musick, offers an elegant evening of chamber music.

Christmas Town Dash 8K and Fun Run, December 3

Furniture Facelift Class at On the Hill Gallery, December 3

Fall Lecture Series: History Below the Waves (Mariners’ Museum), November 30
Presented by Jeff Gray, Superintendent of NOAA’s Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary FREE for Members; $5 for guests Preserved by the cold freshwater on which they once served, more than 200 shipwrecks are believed to rest in Lake Huron’s Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary.

A Colonial Christmas at the American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, December
At American Revolution Museum at Yorktown, hear accounts of Christmas and winter in Revolutionary War encampment and glimpse holiday preparations on a Revolution-era farm. Holiday programs complement 17th-century holiday traditions at Jamestown Settlement.

A Colonial Christmas at Jamestown Settlement, December
Experience centuries-old holiday traditions and, December 23-31, festivities featuring period musical entertainment and appearances at Jamestown Settlement by the Lord of Misrule. A Jamestown Settlement holiday film and interpretive programs compare and contrast English Christmas customs of the period with how the season may have been observed in the difficult early years of the Jamestown colony.

“Wild at Art” Show, December 1 & 2
Virginia artists Jim Wilson and David Turner, passionate advocates for Virginia wildlife, host a 2-day show featuring artwork to enrich and inspire appreciation of nature. A portion of sales will support wildlife conservation at the VLM. Cost: Free admission to the Changing Exhibits Gallery.

Mead Up – Grand Illumination Weekend, December 1 – 3
Our final Mead Up event for 2017 is taking place December 1-3 which coincides with Williamsburg’s Grand Illumination. Enjoy the largest selection of Silver Hand Meads that we’ve ever had available.

Yorktown Christmas Tree Lighting, December 1
A tradition that began in 1945 continues with the Yorktown Tree Lighting. Evening highlights include a 7 pm performance by the Fifes and Drums of York Town at the Victory Monument, festive music at Riverwalk Landing, the procession of lights through the historic village, and the arrival of Santa and Mrs. Claus.

A Community-Wide Service of Lessons & Carols, December 1
Williamsburg Presbyterian Church welcomes all to its annual Community-Wide Service of Lessons & Carols on Friday, December 1st, at 7:00 PM. The service follows a traditional format, first presented in England in 1880.

Williamsburg Christmas Parade, December 2

Run for the Hills 5K/10K and Fall Fest, October 14
Run (or Walk) just for the health of it! 1 mile fun run, 5K, or a 10K, you choose! Join a team, create a team, or just pink out either in person or participate as a virtual participant and run or walk whenever and wherever you’d like!

Pumpkinville is a fun, seasonal treasure in Toano, VA, part of the Greater Williamsburg area. Pumpkinville is operated by a local family farm. Your family can pick their own pumpkins from their patch or choose from our large selection of pre-picked pumpkins in the yard. In addition to pumpkins, there is a large selection of pumpkins, gourds, winter squash, flowers, wooden cut-outs, arts and crafts and fall decorations. Bundles of cornstalks and bales of straw are also available for purchase.

The Chamber Music Society of Williamsburg presents the Ensemble 4.1 Tuesday evening, October 10 at 8:00 PM in the Williamsburg Regional Library Theatre. The group calls itself the only “Piano Windtet” in the world.

York County is hosting one of three exhibits to honor the Marquis de Lafayette. The Marquis de Lafayette was one of the heroes of the American Revolution and was with Washington here in Yorktown at the surrender of Cornwallis.

New Exhibition – Another Look: Marine Photography From 1948-1972, October 7-21
Camera clubs provide an opportunity for photographers to reach a wider audience and to have their work criticized on its artistic and technical merits.

New Exhibition – Views of the Baltic Sea: Contemporary Photographs  from Greifswald, Germany, October 7 -21
This photography exhibition will recognize the 10th anniversary of the Newport News–Greifswald relationship. These photographs were created by eight photographers who live and work in the region.

Williamsburg Fall Classic Pickeball Tournament, October 14
The tournament is open to all skill levels and will feature men’s and women’s singles competition as well as men’s, women’s and mixed doubles. Tournament will be double elimination and players grouped by age and skill level.

For 81 years, Williamsburg served as the seat of Virginia government. But what happened after the capital moved to Richmond? For more than two centuries, Williamsburg was a sleepy, small town. Using images and personal stories, explore the booms, busts, and eventual restoration of this unique community.

Printing Fashion, Mondays through October 27
Explore the exhibit “Printed Fashions” and learn about popular patterns and how they were made. Then design your own printed textile sample to take home.(1 hour).  Entertaining and educational.
