Food & Wine Festival at Busch Gardens, Weekends through July 1
A tasty adventure awaits culinary explorers at Busch Gardens® Food & Wine Festival. Busch Gardens invites guests to unleash their inner foodie with a variety of dishes and wines not normally served at the park.

Jamestown Jams – Groove Motive, May 25
Come and enjoy free live music for the first Jamestown Jams concert on Friday, May 25. The concert theme is Motown Night featuring Groove Motive. Entrance will open for each Jamestown Jams concert at 5:30 p.m. Concerts will take place on a grassy field within Jamestown Beach Event Park.

Mead up – Memorial Day Weekend, May 25 – 27
If you’ve been to the meadery before you may already know that due to Virginia ABC law we are typically unable to sell mead by the glass. The exception is that a few times a year we are able to obtain a special permit which allows us to serve to you by the glass. We call these special weekends: MEAD UP.For our first MEAD UP of 2018 we are excited to be releasing a brand new limited edition mead made entirely from Virginia ingredients. On Friday, join us for Raspberry Passion Mead Release Day.

Memorial Day Ceremony at Grace Church, May 28
The ceremony will start in the Church with a few prayers and remarks, playing of “Taps”, then proceed to replace the US Flags on each of the 89 known veterans buried in the cemetery of the Revolutionary War, Civil War, Philippine Insurrection, World Wars 1 & 2, Korea, Cold War, and Vietnam with “Honors.”

Memorial Day Ceremony at York Hall, May 28
The York County Historical Committee presents the posting of colors, historical re-enactors, guest speaker, and the placing of flowers.

Memorial Day Acoustic Jam, May 28
Join us in the beer garden for some acoustic jams from Billy Joe Daniel along with DJ Kudlz on Memorial Day Monday from 3-7 pm. The Virginia Beer Company will be opening at NOON for the day – plus Suck On This BBQ ALL DAY – so come out early, stay late, and enjoy some brews & tunes!

Old City Jamfest 2018, May 27

FREE Water Exploration Program at Waller Mill Park will give kids a hands-on opportunity to explore the reservoir and learn what makes a healthy water source, how our water sources are connected and how they impact the water sources around them.

Eco/History Paddle on Powhatan Creek, May 28
Explore Powhatan Creek by Paddleboard and learn the history about The Captain John Smith water trail, and also get up close to all the native wildlife of the Powhatan Creek.

Putting for Patriots, Through May 28

Roaming Ranger at York River State Park, May 20 – June 10

The Williamsburg Contemporary Art Center’s second 2018 Members Co-op Show opened on May 1 and is now underway through June 8. Featuring bodies of work of member artists and artisans, the show offers lots to see and take in – a variety of mediums and styles in the main and middle galleries.

Confederate Piracy on the High Seas: The Clarence/Tacony/Archer Affair, May 12
When the CSS Florida, commanded by Lieutenant John Newland Maffitt, captured the Baltimore brig Clarence, Lieutenant Charles W. ‘Savez’ Read took command of the brig to operate separately from the Florida as a commerce raider. Read then seized several merchant ships including the bark Tacony.

Inside James Fort: Built of “Pales, Posts, and Railes,” Saturdays through May 19
Building a fort proved to be a necessity for the colonists within a month of their arrival in 1607. In 1994 Jamestown Rediscovery archaeologists found evidence of the trenches and post molds from the original palisade lines. Carpenter Paul Zelesnikar will demonstrate the tools and methods used by the first colonists to build everything from the fort walls to stools and chests. Stop by to learn more about this important trade!

Bluegrass, Beer and Barbecue in the ‘Burg, May 6
The Muscarelle Museum of Art invites you to the annual Bluegrass, Beer and Barbeque in the ‘Burg.  The event will feature traditional southern BBQ from five states, live music, and beer as far as the eye can see. Bluegrass, Beer and Barbeque is open to the entire Williamsburg community, so don’t miss out! This event is a celebration of the 80th birthday of the Chamber and Tourism Alliance.

Yorktown’s Annual “Blues, Brews & BBQ” Festival, May 5

Pedal the Parkway, May 5
Enjoy the 21st Annual Pedal the Parkway on Saturday, May 5 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. Cycle, run or hike along the shores of the scenic James River from Jamestown to Williamsburg, or vice versa. Women with Vision: Masterworks from the Permanent Collection, Through May 13
The Muscarelle Museum of Art is proud to present Women With Vision: Masterworks from the Permanent Collection in conjunction with William & Mary’s 100 Years of Women celebration. This exhibition features over thirty works by prominent women artists from the permanent collection and is comprised of a variety of media styles and time periods expressing their vision.

Guerilla Girls: Conscience of the Art World, Through May 13
The Muscarelle Museum of Art is proud to present Guerrilla Girls: Conscience of the Art World in the Herman Graphic Arts Room as part of the commemoration of the 100th anniversary of coeducation at William & Mary and in Virginia. Since 1985 and even more stridently today, the Guerrilla Girls have been concerned with broader discrimination; particularly social oppression related to race, class, and gender.

Friday Brewmaster’s Pin, Fridays
Every Friday at 4 pm at The Virginia Beer Company, we tap a small but potent Brewmaster’s Pin. Centrally located on the bar top in our taproom, these weekly cask concoctions give our brewing team the chance to add a personal touch to our draft offerings.

Trivia Night at Alewerks, Wednesdays
Wednesday night means the Taproom is the place to be for this battle of the brains. Bring your friends (or your enemies) and prove just how smart you really are. It’s an entertaining evening with great craft beer, and a thoroughly irreverent take on trivia. We’ll have food trucks here too with an ever-changing menu of delicious options.

Sip and Sculpt, March 9
A new Battle of Hampton Roads (BOHR) event where guests can enjoy a glass of their favorite adult beverages while creating their own iron-cast molds. The molds will then be used to turn the design into a work of art using traditional iron-casting techniques during iron pour demonstrations throughout the weekend. At the Mariners’ Museum.

Civil War Lecture: The Age of Iron, March 10
Civil War lectures are free with Museum admission, but reserving a seat is suggested as seating is limited. Reserve seats below. Following the American Civil War a number of improvements were made to ironclad vessels to better project the imperialistic interests of world nations.

Middle School Art Show at On the Hill Gallery, Through March 17
Come out and support our local youth “Artist in the Making”, an art exhibit by selected York County Middle School students.
